Episode 5 ‘Fore!’ Review

Wow, that was my initial reaction, what a great fuckin’ episode! It’s just getting better and better this season. Although seeing any of the scenes with Vinnie was a bit heart-wrenching as any scene with our Vinnie was stolen by Mark Wahlberg. It goes to show that Vincent Chase has a while to go before he reaches such the dizzying heights that Mark has reached. It’s almost as if Vince is a bit depressed or something? He’s pretty much become an observer. This doesn’t take away at all from the episode, which I think was the second 5-star ep this season.

The banter between Drama and Mark Wahlberg was as one sided as Cuban election. Drama truly came out as an even bigger idiot than before, while snapping Tom Brady’s golf club. Tom Brady was entertaining and his dinner invitation absolutely floors Turtle just as Turtle’s New York patriotism was about to say “Tom Brady sucks balls!”. Turtle was severely lost in the moment, especially after Gisele was mentioned. It was lucky for Jamie-Lynn, as a possible double-date with Tom+Gisele appears on the horizon.

Jeff Tambor and Ari, seriously summed up Ari’s current situation while the appearance of George Segal (Sloan’s Godfather!) was a laugh and a half.
Let’s not forget E, mistaking Ashley for Sloan absolutely fuckin’ summed up his situation. I’d say there’s no way back for him, but never say never!

Here’s a selection of tweets shortly after the episode ended:

Entourage has the best soundtrack ever. Every episode. Dope.

why is every episode of entourage this season better than the one before?

entourage is my life….. Entourage + Tom Brady= AMAZING!!

entourage is the worst show I’ve ever seen. Drama is the worst character ever created.

It was actually hard to find anything negative – most definitely more kudos to this episode. And finally the music, whoever selects these tracks needs to be applauded, another outstanding selection:

  • “Blackbyrds’ Theme” by The Blackbyrds
    [Drama takes a mulligan.]
  • “Down On The Street (Single Mix)” by The Stooges
    [E buggies it to Sloan]
  • “What Means The World To You” by Cam’Ron
    [End Credits]
  • More to update soon!

Episode 5 ‘Fore!’ Preview

We are almost at the half way point of the season. In tonight’s Season 6 Episode 5 ‘Fore!’, Entourage will have established itself for this season, and hopefully it will follow through with some really awesome episodes to finish of Season 6 with a bang. In this episode, a charity golf tourney features, with cameo’s from Mark Wahlberg and Tom Brady.

Will we see a continuation of the Andrew Klein – Lizzie Grant love affair? Or did Ari solve the crisis? Will E suffer from post-Murphy Group depression? And will Sloan force her way back into his life? Or will Ashley be the one? And let’s not forget about the Chase brothers, although they both seem like they’re on easy street at the moment.

The presskit:

Vince and Drama team up with Mark Wahlberg and Tom Brady at a charity golf tournament; Ari’s adherence to his principles gets him in hot water with his wife and a fussy client; Eric is surprised by a job opportunity.

Check out the preview from HBO below and also don’t miss Lloyd’s hilarious blog and occasional vlog at his page on HBO.com.

Celebrities raising money for charity sounds a bit boring but I’m sure it will be a blast with all the boys competing against each other.
We all now know that President Obama is one of the biggest fans of Entourage, and the story continues at The Insider, including a few words with creator/writer Doug Ellin about why Barry loves it so much. Does all this talk mean anything?! Will it conclude with a possible Presidential cameo in the season finale?!

In fan-related news, you have to check out Ryan Mercury’s blog, featuring a look into the future of Entourage, titled ‘Entourage 2039′ this is as if the show continued till then, an awesome read! Keep ‘em coming Ryan!

The Guardian on Entourage

The UK newspaper ‘The Guardian’ has an excellent article about Entourage, by John Patterson. John actually visits the set on the Caltech campus and speaks to a few of the cast and crew. This is an excellent insight for new and old fans, and there’s even a few scoops about the rest of the season (Have a look below – if you dare!). Interesting to note the inspiration for each of the characters, Turtle being based on Mark Wahlberg’s friend Donnie “The Donkey” Carroll (aka rapper Murda One), Mark’s cousin Johnny Alves is the inspiration for Drama. Eric ‘E’ Murphy is based on Mark’s friend – Eric Weinstein (A credited producer!). While oddly Vincent Chase’s inspiration is actor Vince Vaughn, I guess there’s some slight personality resemblance there.

Also awesome to note one of Mark Wahlberg’s buddies: Rasta Russ giving Doug Ellin a bit of script advice

(Entourage) needs more naked girls!

Something I think we’d all agree on, let’s get it up to The Sopranos level, and we’ll be almost satisfied.

Here are the spoilers and scoops for those who want to know:
Adrian Grenier reveals “This season for me is all about coasting and relishing being back on top – all girls and smiles for me!” while Kevin Dillon says “(Drama) will do the dumbest thing he’s ever done in his whole career, or in the history of the show. It Just can’t be topped, it’s so dumb”, can’t wait for that one, it will have to be the most cringe worthy moment ever. Also revealed is Jerry Ferrara’s real life relationship with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, which I had no fuckin’ idea about – no wonder the chemistry looks so good on screen.

Peter Stormare is guest starring as Vince’s Security Consultant, you’ll all know him from The Big Lebowski as Karl Hung. He’s one funny lookin’ mutha fucka. Finally, the Entourage could possibly have an episode or a few scenes at The White House? Now that would be unbelievable. President Obama meeting Vincent Chase and his Entourage. Can’t Wait (fingers crossed).
