Episode 8 ‘The Sorkin Notes’ Recap

Ads by Google

The Sorkin Notes recap. This recap really should’ve been published before the preview to Episode 9, but sometimes the world just doesn’t work that way. Just like how this weekend there’s no new Entourage episode, so we’ll have twiddle our thumbs and starve for 1 more week. In the mean time check out Doug Ellin’s preview now:

Further Twitter reviews by you:

Entourage note-the fact Vince’s stalker is from Madison, WI just cracked me up. A liberal, beer drinking college student on a road trip

On a rather random note: One character I’ve been severely missing is Billy Walsh (played by Rhys Coiro), and his last appearance was in The Cannes Kids way back in 2007, and I think we’d all love him to return next season. Maybe we’ll have to do a little recap of Billy Walsh one of these days.

Make sure you catch the Episode 9 ‘Security Briefs’ Preview and remember because it’s the Labor Day Holiday, you’ll have to wait that little bit longer for the next Entourage episode.

Episode 8 ‘The Sorkin Notes’ Review

Not the best episode ever, but close to the best this season. It was a quality Ari Gold episode, with a plethora of quotes to choose from.

In Episode 8, Ari has to deal with Andrew Klein’s domestic disturbances again while under the watchful eye of Babs (Barbara Miller played by Beverly D’Angelo) while Vincent and the boys consider getting a whole security system, and this was really a side story to Ari Gold’s problem of Andrew Klein trying to secure their services for Aaron Sorkin.

While that was happening, we got to see Eric’s assistant Brittany again and what a beautiful sight it was to see, why not let them get together! Instead we got Ashley (who not many people rate) returning and Sloan (the rated one!) trying to get him back. I actually like how E screws the ‘friendly cocktails’ with Sloan and decides to go back to his ex. Albeit I don’t love Ashley as much as Sloan, but E’s fuckin’ cool for being decisive for a change, plus he’s getting some at the end of the day. Ashley is someone I’m still not 100% convinced by but for some reason or another, she’s beginning to be a bit more likable.

Not so sure about Andrew Klein, the pathetic one, when will this ever end? Since Andrew Klein is in the big house, maybe it has? Will this be the time Lizzie Grant will gain some attention of her own? She has fuckin’ great potential to become a super agent like Ari, especially when she stands up to the mighty Ari Gold – definitely a turn on. And of course let’s not forget this episode guest starred Aaron Sorkin. He was fuckin’ funny, especially when he threw down the hate for Ari and Babs as soon as they entered the conference room.

When the Security team that Vincent pretty much decides to hire discover a driver’s license belonging to a Wisconsin Carrot-Top that goes by the name ‘Curtis Tucker’, we understand their paranoia, he looked like a fuckin’ psychopath. Unfortunately we’re going to have to have a little break from this season next weekend because of the holiday so we’ll have to wait for Drama to unleash his fury on the psychopath one more week, so I’ll leave you with the pick of the twitter reviews (twiviews) and the music from Entourage Episode 8 which was in abundance this time ’round. And hopefully some new Entourage-related videos will pop up in the mean time. Peace.

The ‘Twiviews’:

Episode 4 ‘Running On E’ Review

Yeah baby, we got boobies! And I have to say this would have to be the best episode of the season, and up in my top ten…ehem…not just because of the boobs, but they were mos def beautiful.

This is the first episode directed by Ken Whittingham this season, so whether there was a difference because of him? I don’t know, but it sure was the best this season. With Vincent Chase again taking a bit of a back seat because his Enzo movie being delayed by 12 weeks, an extended vacation ensues. He tries his best to get E, Turtle and Drama to join him, but ends up with no one, albeit for a few hours till Eric decides to pull the plug on his business – The Murphy Group. This was disappointing, but does it really mean the end of E’s Murphy Group? Or just the office it was residing in? It would be a shame for E and Entourage to lose the Charlie storyline, as it was quite cool to have another up-and-coming star in the midst.

Ari Gold was trying to handle a barrage of situations from all sides, it was an Ari juggling act.. under pressure Ari is when he is at his best! Dealing with Andrew Klein was great, but even better was his face off with Andrew’s lover — Lizzie Grant, the junior agent at the Miller Gold Agency (played by Autumn Reeser). Damn girl, she’s one tough women! Is she a future threat to Ari?

The music featured was way fuckin’ cool, especially if you caught the tunes of Daft Punk, and the new crew Empire Of The Sun — Check out their awesome video clip above. Awesome job, music people! Here’s the list:

  • “Easin’ In” by Edwin Starr
[E bored at the Murphy Group]
  • “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” by Young Gunz
[E getting it on with Ashley, Drama with the models]
  • “Black Flag” by Duchess Says
    [Ari finds Andrew Klein balling]
  • “Something About Us” by Daft Punk [Boys reminiscing the day]
  • “Standing on the Shore” by Empire of the Sun
    [Final Scene]

Vincent Chase going on Facebook and stalkin’ his old classmates (Kimberley Kirsch?!)was classic. E announcing his relationship with Ashley being ‘serious’ was another predictable disappointment. Turtle getting dressed up by Jamie-Lynn was vomitus, but funny at the same time — the usual thing to do when you have a girlfriend. And how about David Schwimmer? Not the dorkus he usually is aye? He was after Lizzie, and that was more of classic Entourage. And how can we miss Johnny Drama’s casting with all those fuckin’ hot models! And when Ed Burns mentions how Drama has 25 takes with one of them, that was incredibly hilarious. There was also a bit of Mrs. Gold in there for good measure. All the ingredients and reasons why we love Entourage and why this episode was so good. We want more! …How did you rate it?
